Tennessee Foreclosure Activity Unchanged in April
06/01/2010 - By Contributor April foreclosure activity in Tennessee is relatively unchanged from the previous month to 4,789 properties with foreclosure filings.
This latest state total represents a 38 percent year-over-year increase in foreclosure filings from April 2009, according to the latest RealtyTrac® U.S. Foreclosure Market Report.
“Foreclosure activity in Tennessee held steady between March and April, though it remained well above what was reported for this time one year ago,” said James J. Saccacio, chief executive officer of RealtyTrac. “Unemployment within the state eclipsed that of the nation at 10.6 percent, though its job market does appear to be improving slightly on a monthly basis, even in the wake of flood devastation.”
